connecting worlds through technology and language.
01. the spark
As an elementary schooler who caught ransomware while downloading Minecraft mods, I once accidentally cut off the home internet while messing with the router, and rage-quit Eclipse when I couldn't even build a hello world.
Then, during a hospital stay in 3rd grade, I was playing around making a design-less mysite-v1 in HTML. My computer teacher gave me Visual Studio 6.0, which vastly expanded my world of development. (I even made a calculator that acted like a cheat code for my homework!)
Feeling the limits of self-study, I enrolled in a computer academy as the youngest student. I remember getting scolded by the director for planting a prank code that shut down computers upon booting, and later eating cup noodles together with him.
Above all, the "thank you" and Starbucks gift card I received from an Inha University security student for my "first open-source ransomware for research" is still the biggest driving force behind my development journey.

02. the wall & the bridge
Meeting VRChat in 7th grade opened up new inspiration. Later, while building Linux and network knowledge in my high school dorm thanks to great teachers, I made a Japanese friend in VRChat.
At first, I relied on gestures and translators, but over time, I became able to converse naturally without them.
However, knowing how long and arduous that process is, I developed a Voice Recognition Translation Tool for VRChat so others could easily bypass the language barrier and enjoy conversations. It was a joyful moment where technology became a bridge connecting people.
Thinking "Maybe I have a talent for languages?", I joined the official VRChat translation project and got so immersed that I translated heavily right up until my college entrance exams. (I ended up majoring in Japanese!)
03. the infra
I crossed paths with Misskey, an ActivityPub based project, and set up my own instance. ("Is this how you start Misskey??")
After discovering Docker and getting my first VPS (thanks to friends who lent me test servers), I built countless small projects. It still warms my heart to see my Misskey Docker auto-setup script running smoothly, or my bot "Minya" throwing random words into various servers.

04. forward
Between reality and virtual reality, I have met so many people, gained inspiration, and received help.
I want to continue building bridges so I can share everything I've received with everyone else.
